Licensing Ceremony, Tuesday, May 13, 2014

On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, the West Toronto Chapter of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, welcomed 16 new Professional Engineers to the PEO and our 2900 member strong West Toronto Chapter. The ceremony was held at the Islington Golf and Country Club in Toronto, and MC’d by Richard Weldon, P.Eng. The licence recipients presented to the assembly at this ceremony were:

Also of note is one special and invaluable license recipient.  Catharine Hancharek joined the chapter board as an EIT in 2010 as our logistics officer.  Since then she has assumed additional responsibilities as the chair of the Women in Engineering committee, vice chair of the Education committee, member of the Engineering and Public Policy committee, and our liaison with the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.  Just goes to show what determination can accomplish.

On behalf of Eugen Karanxha, P.Eng, West Toronto Chapter Chair and the chapter board, we want to congratulate all who received their license at this ceremony.  We also want to gratefully acknowledge the contributions made by friends, family, and guests of our license recipients who attended the ceremony in support.

We should also congratulate Thomas Chong, P.Eng., FEC, for being elected this term to the position of PEO President-Elect.

Matthew Ng, P.Eng., FEC, presents Engineers Canada’s
“Certificate of Fellowship” to Georg A. M. Kralik, P.Eng., FEC

For services rendered to the profession, Georg A. M. Kralik, P.Eng., was also awarded the additional title of Fellow of Engineers Canada (FEC). This honour is being bestowed by Engineers Canada to registered professional engineers who have served in a volunteer capacity for ten, or more years with Engineers Canada, or on a committee of any of the Provincial Regulatory Engineering Organizations. Matthew Ng, P.Eng., FEC, PEO Chapters Manager made the presentation on behalf of Engineers Canada.

I would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped to make this one of the smoothest running and successful ceremonies for the West Toronto Chapter.
