West Toronto Chapter (WTC) – Members Engagement (M.E.)

WTC has initiated an exciting strategic planning process to ensure our Chapter creates strong value for its members. WTC is reaching out to the membership to get our membership more involved with the Chapter & other members at large. To support this process, we are working to better understand our  members’ overall experience with WTC and how WTC can better engage and support our members.

Is there any info/news/events you would like to share with others? A section will be set up on the WTC website (under M.E. – News ) with news of members’ technical/engineering activities. This will be updated monthly:
– articles you’ve written, seminars you have presented/will present, interesting projects
  you’re working on
– share your recent presentation, have its location (URL) posted on the WTC website

Also please submit potential speakers, either yourself or those you can recommend either from work, studies, etc. Also do you have topics/events that you would prefer to be covered?

We appreciate the time you will take to respond. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Please forward your info to the contact person from the WTC – M.E. Committee:

NOTICE

from the Chair, Officers, and Executives of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, West Toronto (PEO-WT) Chapter to Members and Volunteers of PEO-WT

As you are already aware of the current CoViD-19 crisis, internationally and locally, the chapter board has made the decision to postpone all activities, events, seminars, and meetings, held at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (University Health Network), until further notice.  We are the visitors to this vital health care facility, and therefore don’t want to be a burden to them.
This order also extends to our activities at the University of Toronto, and the Spring 2020 Licensing Ceremony at the Royal Canadian Institute.Members will be notified through the chapter home page at http://www.westtoronto.peo.on.ca, and your eMail Inbox for any updates.
The seminar scheduled for March 25, 2020 “The Mining Industry in Canada and Globally” will be rescheduled to after the crisis.  Admission Tickets already sold for the March 25 seminar will be honored at that time.
The April seminar/panel discussion on “Environmental Issues” (working title), will likewise be rescheduled to a future date.  This event has not yet been advertised.
The TECS meetings, held Tuesday’s in the UofT Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Building will be suspended for the duration of the crisis, as the University of Toronto, as many other universities in the region, has suspended all in-classroom activities.
PEO-WT continues to follow the advice from international, federal, provincial, and municipal health authorities, and encourage our membership to help minimize the spread of CoViD-19 by following simple rules available from Health Canada.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the chapter at westtoronto@peo.on.ca.
If we all do our bit, we shall all come through this CoViD-19 crisis.  Stay healthy and safe!

About West Toronto Chapter – Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)

picProfessional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is the provincial association of professional engineers that self- regulates its members in the province of Ontario, Canada. Ontario is subdivided into five regions for Council representation and membership communications. Regional membership is further divided into Chapters to deliver educational outreach, technical, and social/sporting events to their membership. Chapters are the link between the association, and its members and the public. A Chapter’s primary function is to distribute and discuss information about policies and decisions made with respect to regulation of the engineering profession. It offers a forum for its members to discuss issues of concern for engineers and society.

Design Engineer IN 3D worksThe purpose of the West Toronto Chapter is to promote public awareness of the engineering profession in the local community.
